 Misleading Untrue description of heating pad Jul 15, 2010
I specifically bought this "Cheap" Sunbeam 756-500 heating pad because it was advertised as NOT having a timed automatic shut off ....I just received my order and they DO have a timed auto shut off...I feel misled & Cheated..

After having a heating pad for 20 plus years, I purchased a new one from amazon December, 09. It lasted about 3 months. I did not have the receipt or box so my only recourse to to buy a new one. Again, this one worked well initially and then started to go on the fritz. Sometimes, it would not heat up. I would have to fiddle around with the controls etc. Sometimes it will heat up, other times not. I am frusteated. I am handicapped and it is difficult for me to box this up and go to the post office to send it back.

This is a great heating pad - quick to heat and safe to use. I'm especially pleased with the controls because they are easy to read even without my glasses.

We use these to take care of orphaned and injured wildlife. We put the heating pads under crates and kennels to keep the baby animals warm. We need the heating pads that do not have an auto turn off and these do not. They get a lot of use from us and are left on for hours and days at a time and they hold up very well. I have not had one quit working on me yet in the 3 years I have been doing wildlife rehab.
Great for fermenting foods May 06, 2010
I bought this so I can provide some heat when I ferment some foods overnight and it has never disappointed me. I usually keep it in a box on the low setting and it works perfectly fine. I even used it to keep warm during cold mornings and works lovely.
The only problem is that I thought it would be bigger. This being the case, I would have ordered a larger size but will not dock any points from the rating due to my careless mistake.
This product has never given me any problems and recommend it if any readers of this review would like to use it to ferment foods. Otherwise, you might want to get the larger size.
