Better than Kems Sep 24, 2008
By Morley Dotes
"morleydotes"
First let me say that we used Kem cards in our club exclusively, however, the last few decks were so bad that we decided to try Copags. Lucky for us, as these cards are much better. No problems with the cards. No defects (Kem had 4 of 4 decks bad). If you play regularly you need to use these cards. They are washable, almost impossible to ruin (with normal use), and they feel brand new for a long, long, long time. Once you use these cards you will never go back to regular decks. If you only play once in a while, then the cost of the cards may not be justified, but the feel, slide, etc., is so far superior to regular decks that you will be glad you bought them.

Copag 100% Plastic = 100% Great! Mar 08, 2007
By Amanda Moxley Have been playing with these cards for about a month now and love them. They feel exactly like they felt when I took them out of the box. I'm a big Texas Hold 'Em player and there's nothing worse then playing with old worn out cards. Other than losing I guess ;)
The price was just right. You won't need to purchase another set for quite a while.

These are the only cards I'll use anymore Dec 29, 2009
By Brian I have regular get togethers with my friends to play poker, and we used to go through a red and blue deck of regular Bicycle playing cards every couple games because inevitably a card would get marked by either getting bent (creased or warped), liquids spilled on a card, or scratched. With these Copag cards you can use them for years with normal use before needing replaced. Liquids are easily wiped off, pulling the cards up to look at them doesn't warp them, and it's very VERY hard to actually crease these cards.
The only issue I've had with these cards is if you're not playing on a felt surface (i.e. a smooth surface like most tables) they are very slick, so while dealing you have to be careful not to slide them off the edge of the table.
I love these cards and these are the only brand cards I'll buy from now on.

Copags > KEMs Aug 08, 2007
By WT Love these cards. Super durable, moreso than KEMs. We used to play poker with KEMs and Copags and left both sets of cards in a non-air conditioned room for a week, out of direct sunlight. The KEMs looked like potato chips. The Copags were fine. As long as you don't forget your cards in a hot room for a week, then KEMs are fine, but my preference is Copag especially given the lower price.

Copag makes some of the best consumer plastic playing cards Jul 30, 2011
By C. Keller I have several sets of plastic playing cards (Kem, Copag, Da Vinci, Modiano, etc). Whenever someone asks me which brand of plastic cards they should buy, I tell them to buy Copag. All plastic cards have their pros and cons, but IMHO Copag offers an overall great product.
QUALITY: All four of the brands of plastic cards mentioned above, make great quality plastic cards. Although I should mention that I have a thirty year old set of Kem cards. But the last three sets of Kem's I bought makes me seriously wonder about Kem's quality control these days (that's a whole other review).
VARIETY: When it comes to choices of sizes (poker/bridge, regular/jumbo) and backs (designs/colors), Copag and Kem offer a large variety of choices, which makes it easy to find a set that fits your needs. FYI, about 95% of poker rooms in the U.S. use bridge size cards with a regular index.
PACKAGING: A hard shell plastic case comes standard with all Copag and Kem cards. The Da Vinci and Modiano cards come in a cardboard box with a plastic tray, unless they specifically say it comes with a hard shell case. I like having a hard shell case for the extra protection, taking them to poker night at someone else's house, and because it'll last longer than a cardboard box. I also like the fact that the lid on the Copag hard shell case fits snug, compared to the lose fit of the Kem and Da Vinci plastic cases.
PRICE: I think all the brands above are reasonably priced compared to how long they will last vs paper cards. So you might as well just go with the brand that has the best price. That's another reason I lean towards Copag's over Kem's.
HANDLING: Plastic cards do handle differently than paper cards. As far as plastic cards go, some brands are a little thicker than others. Which may make them fill a little stiffer. Nothing wrong with either one, some people may just have a personal preference. A deck of Copag and Kem's are about the same thickness, while the Modiano decks are about 3 cards thicker, the Da Vinci Ruote are about 2 cards thicker, and the Da Vinci Club Casino are about 4 cards thicker.
AESTHETICS: I had to throw this in here because some people like to nit-pick over the aesthetics of plastic cards. Fonts, colors, face card paint, backs, etc. Why didn't I ever notice this stuff before? Oh yeah, I was busy concentrating on the game :) Unless you're holding the different brands of cards side-by-side, you're really not going to notice the differences...they're just cards.
To sum it all up: What size cards do you want, poker or bridge? What size index do you want regular or jumbo? Good, now search amazon for "Copag", pick a back design/color you like and order it. Or better yet, order two sets and get free shipping :) OK, seriously, you'll be happy with any of the brands I mentioned (unless you get defective cards, grrrr Kem). I just think Copag has a little bit better bang-for-the-buck overall, and that's why I usually recommend them to anyone that asks.
