5Great sub $50 battery charger  Jan 18, 2010
By Captain Geek
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2786TT79RDOIW This is a great little charger, it's light, energy efficient, inexpensive and does the job of a much larger at a reasonable price. I have used this unit to charge a large automotive truck battery and it completely charged it within 5 hours. I also used this unit to charge one of my little sealed lead acid battery packs for a 2 amp trickle charge. I haven't yet had the opportunity to use the 8 amp engine start feature, but I am sure it won't dissapoint thanks to it having the build quality and reliability of the stanley name.

5Simple to use!  Apr 05, 2010
By MX Pilot
I bought this Stanley battery charger after buying one of their jump starters and this thing is just as good as their jumper. It is super easy to use. All I had to do was hook it up to my battery, plug it in the wall socket and push the button to start charging. I didn't have to select my battery type or anything. This Stanley automotive stuff is awesome!

5Stanley 6/8 Amp Safe & Easy Charger  Oct 25, 2011
By Peter A "Peter A"
I wanted a small safe & easy to use charger to recharge the emergency jump starters I keep in my vehicles. I was too lazy to search for the different wall warts and charge them regularly. And my car's battery needs a top off in the winter also because I don't drive any long distances.

Got this Stanley charger a couple weeks ago (a few bucks cheaper at a local store than on Amazon). Topped off my jumpers and car very nicely. The cig connector worked just like it is designed to.

Last night my neighbor sat listening to his radio while waiting for his teenage daughter to get ready and killed his battery. The Turbo didn't work the first time after about five minutes of charge. I made a better connection with the kinda small clamps and gave it the full Turbo 15 minutes and it started right up.

My research showed that any stronger charger isn't needed for a home user. This one is always safe at 6 amp, and the Turbo will give a bit more omph when it's needed.

1The manual states if battery voltage is below 2 V this charger won't charge the battery.  Mar 04, 2011
By Rupert Pupkin "Fan"
THE MANUAL STATES IF YOUR BATTERY VOLTAGE IS BELOW 2 VOLTS, THIS CHARGER WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR BATTERY.

If you have a very dead battery, I wish you luck.

My car had a battery that was completely drained by a cigarette lighter appliance that failed to turn itself off.

The first time I connected the battery charger (without pressing the Quick Start button) the screen displayed "Float Charging". Which, according to the manual, should mean the battery was fully charged. The battery was not charged.

I turned the key over and nothing. No audible warnings from my dash, no air conditioner, no radio.

I reconnected the battery charger and again it displayed "Float Charging" which means battery fully charged. I left the charger connected while pulling all major fuses and inspecting them. I disconnected the charger then reconnected it. For about a minute, the screen read "Charging" which meant the battery was not fully charged. Then, after about a minute, the display changed to "Float Charging" which means the battery was fully charged. It wasn't.

I disconnected the charger, turned the key and heard faint warnings and saw lights on my dash. I turned the key off and reconnected the charger. Again for a while it displayed "Charging" then switched to "Float Charging". After a few minutes, I disconnected the charger and reconnected it. The screen read "Charging" and stayed that way for 4 or 5 hours. I then disconnected the unit, even though it said "Charging" instead of "Float Charging" and started the car.

IF YOUR BATTERY IS BELOW 2 VOLTS, THE MANUAL CLEARLY STATES THIS CHARGER WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR BATTERY. BASED ON THAT ALONE, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHARGER. I BOUGHT A CHARGER TO CHARGE A DEAD BATTERY.
