This bag arrived in a timely fashion and looks great.
When I opened the package there was a very strong odor. It smelled like rotting potato peals. It smelled up my entire one bedroom apartment. I tried sprays, cleaners, and airing out the bag. Nothing worked. I even tried packing the bag for a couple of days in a plastic bag in which I poured a whole box of baking powder. This helped a little but even now, weeks later, the bag still has an odor.
The price was good, but it doesn't seem like such a good deal now.

This bag has an extremely strong odor that smells horrible. I've had other leather bags that had a slight leathery smell, but this smells like a pile of dead animals soaked in industrial chemicals. (Which is what leather is, but it doesn't usually smell like that.)
When the package arrived, I was able to smell the odor from 15 feet away. That's when it was still inside a sealed plastic bag, inside the box. When I took it out, the odor was overwhelming and repulsive. I thought it would air out in a few minutes, but all it did was make my office smell horrible. I made the mistake of handling it, and it took me about 20 minutes of washing my hands to get the smell off them.
I immediately packed it back up to send it back, but had to leave the box in my car overnight. I got rid of the package the next day (apologizing profusely to the post office staff), but my car still smelled like that for days.
I don't know what they've put on this bag that smells so bad, but it is disgusting.

Not top of the line, which is why not 5 stars. But it is a very nice one, and great price. If it breaks I will update review. but very happy with it so far. No strong smells, just a slight leathery sent, which I like. Would buy again if needed at this point.

Yes, they do smell. Smelled like any tanned leather product. I aired it out for a couple of days and it was OK after that. Just a faint smell. Construction is good. Could have been just a little bigger but it does hold what I wanted to put in it.
Worth the money for sure and much sturdier than the vinyl bags.

I was looking for a bigger bag to carry some radio equipment...this bag ended up being just right...there are 2 side pockets one large front pocket and 2 little and 1 medium side pockets plus the big area...evrything fit in the bag and the shoulder strap is adjustable or use the handles..its easy to carry. As always with any leather product you have that new aroma but after a couple of days its gone...the price was what attracted me to the bag...an excellant value for a leather bag
